HOLISTIC PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Meditation, somatic nervous system and emotional regulation, mindfulness, yoga, and connecting to nature and spiritual practices are fundamental to my own well-being. These are the practices I explore with and teach my clients because I know how vital they are in your healing journey. Rooted in a holistic framework, my approach honors your relationship to yourself,  your ancestors, the community around you, ensuring that you never have to leave a part of who you are out of what we will explore with each other.  I deeply believe in the profound nature of human resilience and your ability to heal, and I am honored to offer empathetic and affirming care.

I honor that I live on the ancestral lands of the Tohono O'Odham and Pascua Yaqui peoples, known today as Tucson, Arizona.
I believe therapy works best  when you can show up as your full, authentic self. Every part of your story matters. I provide a welcoming, open experience that honors the intersection of your race, culture, sexuality, gender, and the multidimensionality of your lived experience.

Now on to my experience and the approaches I draw from and how they can support you.
Since 2006, I've also offered training and consultation to therapists and community members on a variety of mental health topics, including stress management, nervous system and somatic regulation, grief care, trauma therapy, and EMDR for  young adults, and children. I also offer consultation and coaching to clinicians.

Before entering private practice, I provided counseling services in a variety of settings, including non-profit outpatient clinics like La Frontera, Jewish Family Children's Services, and The International Rescue Committee, as well as the VA Hospital and residential treatment centers including Sierra Tucson.

Since 2006, I've also offered training, classes, public speaking, and consultation to community members on a variety of mental health topics, including stress management, nervous system and somatic regulation, grief care, trauma therapy, and EMDR for trauma, young adults, and children. I also offer consultation and coaching for fellow therapists and healthcare providers.

I'm trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including
EMDR, Mindfulness, Emotional Freedom Technique,  Mindfulness, Guided Therapeutic Imagery, Nervous System and Emotional Regulation, Neuroscience-informed practices, Stress Management, Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family Systems, and Trauma-informed family therapy, EFT, attachment and trauma-informed work, and Play and Art Therapy. “Alden Carroll has completely changed my life! I started seeing her about 5 years ago, and she made me feel comfortable immediately. I was intimidated by therapy at first because it's difficult to be emotionally vulnerable with a stranger, but Alden made it so easy to open up and share my issues without feeling uncomfortable or afraid. She uses several different methods to get to the root of your issues, and ultimately to heal them. I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who's looking for someone to help them in an unbiased, caring way.!"
